ข้อสังเกต   How do you do.  เป็นสํานวนที่ใช้ในการทักทายอย่างสุภาพ
เมื่อ พบกันครั้งแรกเวลาเขียนท้ายข้อความ   How do you do.
จะใช้เครื่องหมาย (?)  หรือ (.)  ก็ได้

การตอบรับ  (Responding)
เช่น  I’m  glad  to  meet  you.  
   Pleased  to  meet  you.  
   Nice  to  meet  you.       ยินดีที่ได้รู้จัก
   Nice  to  know  you.  
   How  do  you  do.

ข้อสังเกต  I’m glad to meet you, Pleased to meet you, Nice to meet you.
(ควรสังเกตประโยคที่เป็นรูป  infinitive  with  to  ที่ใช้ตามหลัง   Adjective.)
(คำคณุศัพท์)  และสามารถใช้เป็นรูป  gerund. (V.ing) ก็ได็ เช่น

Nice meeting you.                
Glad meeting  you.                
Nice  knowing  you.

หลังจากแนะนําตนเองแล้วอาจบอกชื่อ  ที่ทํางานหรืออาชีพ
เช่น   I come form Nakorn Pathom,Thailand.
(ดิฉันมาจากจังหวัดนครปฐม  ประเทศไทยค่ะ)
I work at/in the post office near here.
(ผมทํางานที่ที่ทำการไปรษณีย์ใกล้  ๆ  ที่นี่)
I’m a student  (ดิฉันเป็นนักศึกษา)
I’m a doctor.  (ผมเป็นหมอ)


ตัวอย่าง  เช่น Good morning, My mane is Sombat Phosri.
I come from Bangkok,Thailand.
I work at the hospital.

" Hello. I’m Liza  from Canada
Hello. I’m Bob Robin from England. "

หรือจะใช้คําถามว่ามาจากที่ไหนหรือถามเกี่ยวกับอาชพีในการสนทนาโต้ตอบกัน เช่น
Where do you come from? / Where are you from? (คณุมาจากไหน)
What  do you  do?  (คณุมีอาชพีอะไร)
What’s your job?  (คณุมีอาชพีอะไร)
